A few days ago we brought attention to an event in which beer makers were being used as sponsorship for an Everytown event. Original article here:
Word spread and upset customers of Heineken and Dos Equis reached out to corporate. Well, seems corporate wasn’t too pleased about their logos being used, especially because they were not actual sponsors.....
The bar hosting the event removed their post and will not be using the logos on further promotional materials for their events without further permission.
How was this minor victory against Everytown possible? Through a grassroots effort based off of an article calling attention to it. A world known brand told this bar to knock it off and get their images off of promotional materials for an Everytown/Moms Demand Action fundraising event. To our readers and to the individual who shared this news, thank you.
Glad the beer companies backed away but I gave up Heineken years go, since half their ads promote gender-bending garbage.
