Anyone else see a problem with this?

Updated: May 20, 2020

In what might be one of the most over-the-top and draconian responses to coronavirus yet seen in Montana, Valley County is mandating that people wear government-issued pink arm bands in under to purchase products inside of stores. The measure, enforced by the Valley County Health Department, insists that store-owners keep customers out unless they have the pink arm-bands, which denote the customer has been in the area more than 14 days and submitted to quarantine protocol.
According to the flier produced by the Valley County Health Department, out-of-towners who lack the government-issued armbands will be prohibited from stores and residents are notified to call law enforcement if they do not comply.

So now people need to wear an identification piece to mark who they are and prove that they were in quarantine if they’re not from the area. Sounds somewhat familiar in a sense, doesn’t it?

During the Nazi era, German authorities reintroduced the Jewish badge as a key element in their plan to persecute and eventually to destroy the Jewish population of Europe. They used the badge not only to stigmatize and humiliate Jews but also to segregate them and to watch and control their movements. The badge also facilitated deportation.

Of course wearing a pink bracelet isn’t the same as being targeted by the Third Reich. But the fact we’re seeing things like this in the United States of America (and in a conservative state no less) should start raising alarms to everyone. What’s next? Mandatory COVID-19 vaccinations before being allowed to return to society? Sure, it may be a conspiracy theory, but the people supporting this are the very same people who shout “my body, my choice” for political activism. Matter of fact, it also wasn’t too long ago that it was a “conspiracy theory” that the virus originated & escaped out of a lab in Wuhan (seems to be more or less true now) and it in fact came from somebody eating bat soup at the wet market.

The point of all this is many Americans and local governments seem to be supporting draconian measures without even thinking twice just because they’re afraid. Let that sink in and think very hard as to how dangerous it is.

Update: It appears they back peddled a bit after they got a lot of complaints. Moral of the story? BE LOUD and push back against this crap. Public servants are NOT rulers.

The original post from the county Health Department has been taken down, but still shows up via a search.
