If you’re an avid Facebook user, you’re probably already aware of the many functions and capabilities the platform allows for means of communication...
especially during these “uncertain times.”
Over the course of the last few years, several social media platforms have cracked down on posts and comments that seems to have misleading information that could possibly sway political views of users. From Bot Checkers to Fact Checkers, social media platforms have upped their “information security,” so that YOU will not have “books” of “fake news” pushed in your “face.”
(Mom-At-Arms has actually debunked Facebook’s Fact Checkers before. Facebook even issued an apology.)
While social media platforms, like Facebook and Twitter, are working hard to “SAVE” the world from falsehoods as we approach the 2020 Presidential Election, by taking down accounts and posts that may obscure certain perceptions, many users, on both sides of the political aisle, have cast aside their worries about masks and guns for a more serious issue... The campaign to #SaveTheChildren.
President Trump’s administration has been adamant about putting an end to the issue of Human Trafficking within the United States. Almost as soon as he took office in 2016, it was one of the major “To-Dos” on his list. He took major action on Tuesday, August 4th, 2020, by providing a means for the Justice Department to initiate programs to help stop, and aid victims of, the sinister act... by allotting $35 MILLION DOLLARS in grants to the JD!
The “SaveTheChildren” hashtag gained headway over the course of the last few weeks, with many throughout the world of social media using the hashtag to push it into a trending status. Even celebrities and popular social media influencers, from many backgrounds and branding, used their large platforms for the cause as well.
For some reason, though, Facebook decided it was not worthy of awareness.
AND INSTEAD OF TAKING DOWN JUST THE POSTS THAT WERE FACT-CHECKED... like they normally do...
they took down the entire #SaveTheChildren campaign.
So, what is the message Facebook is trying to present with the elimination of the #SaveTheChildren campaign?
Seems pretty odd that they’d stoop so low as to take down an entire “marketing” avenue for something so serious in our nation... AND THROUGHOUT THE WORLD. Hmmm...
Who’s feeding who ”fake news” now?
Or should the question be, “Who’s hiding what, Zuck?”
