Rep Karen Bass (D-CA37) is running for mayor of Los Angles. She is endorsed by Moms Demand Action/Everytown For Gun Safety.
She is about as big of a gun control proponent as you can get. But she recently had a little problem at her home:
Two men have been formally charged by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office for allegedly breaking into the home of U.S. Congresswoman and Los Angeles mayoral candidate Karen Bass and stealing two firearms.
District Attorney George Gascón announced that Patricio Munoz, 42, and Juan Espinoza, 24, were each charged with one felony count of first-degree residential burglary and two counts of grand theft of a firearm.
The two were arraigned Friday at the Foltz Criminal Justice Center in downtown Los Angeles.
The pair are accused of breaking into Bass’s home in Baldwin Vista last Friday and stealing two handguns which Bass said were “safely and securely stored” in a lockbox. No other valuables were stolen from her home, she said.
So, her guns were stolen that were stored safely in a lockbox she says. Well, they're missing now, and some LA city council members have questions. In fact, one is pursing an investigation by the LAPD and the city attorney for a potential violation of the cities (unconstitutional btw) safe storage law, amongst other things:
We will no doubt have more details as this unfolds, but just a reminder that the organization that endorsed her is one of the largest pushers of the BS storage laws. Wonder if this will affect their endorsement of her if it is determined she didn't follow the ordinance, which they themselves promote?........
Bass is the second Everytown/MDA endorsed politician in recent weeks to have been in the spotlight for questionable firearm storage practices (something all of these politicians preech and want laws regarding. Below is congressman Maloney's story (he doesn't even know where an unsecured gun is in his home):
I'd think twice before annoying super-powered dudes like Patricio Munoz and Juan Espinoza. They apparently have the power to remain invisible to all news and booking cameras, and to erase themselves from the web. Don't take my word for it, check it out!
It's a good thing Bass wasn't home when they broke in, because Bass has exactly the opposite superpower (a Google image search for {"Patricio Munoz" arrested} shows 20+ photos of Bass instead), and if they had been in the same room at the same time, the universe might have imploded.
If I were Bass, I would have split extra for the Nigerian bodybuilders -- their work takes whole months to fall apart.
