Illinois State Senator Julie “confiscation” Morrison: talking out both sides of her mouth

Updated: Jan 6, 2020

Take a look at this post Senator Morrison sent out today in honor of Jewish & Proud Day:

I totally agree! People should NOT have to hide in fear for “who they are or what they believe”. They should be able to live a free life and not look over their shoulder in fear of being targeted for some sort of oppression or violent act. Then why, Julie, are you attempting to force your beliefs on legal gun owners and taunting them?

Tough questions about gun rights prompted Illinois state Sen. Julie Morrison to taunt a constituent with possible gun “confiscation” policies in the future.
The Illinois State Rifle Association recently shared footage of the Democrat’s mocking response to a town hall participant who asked pointed questions about SB107, legislation that penalizes lawful gun owners with a fine.
“Unless I pay a fine for each firearm and register them, then I get to keep them,” the questioner replied. “So, if I get to keep it if I pay a fine and register it, then how dangerous is it in the first place and why do I need to pay it at all? Why do you need to try and ban my semi-automatic weapon?”
“Well, you just maybe changed my mind,” Ms. Morrison said. “Maybe we won’t have a fine at all. Maybe it’ll just be a confiscation and we won’t have to worry about paying the fine.”

Here’s video of the exchange:

Mom-at-Arms reached out the the individual that Senator Morrison threatened with confiscation, Mike Weisman, an Illinois resident who is also Jewish:

MAA: What is your opinion on Senator Morrison’s statement today? Does she believe what she says?
MW: She thinks she’s sincere, but the truth is she would rather leave us vulnerable to a mob. 1 person with a firearm can prevent a community from a mob armed with pitchforks and torches. Julie would rather us be disarmed.

All legal Illinois gun owners (and legal gun owners nationwide) need to take Julie’s own advice. Watch her video linked here and do exactly as she tells her Moms Demand Action supporters.

-“Do not be intimidated by legislators”

-“Don’t take no for an answer”

-“Don’t accept bad bills that have the language changed. That’s no longer acceptable.”

Julie is proud of advertising that she has never voted in favor of any pro-firearm legislation. So proud that it‘s advertised on her website:

“Well-enforced gun safety laws”......Well, I wonder what she has to say about the Jewish community in New York taking up arms with the very guns she threatens to “confiscate” (which also look to be in violation of the NY SAFE act)? Should their disregard for NY law be enforced?

Since Senator Morrison is fighting to ban the pictured so-called “assault weapons”, I’m sure many of us are curious how she feels about “people in the Jewish community” making sure they “never have to hide who they are or what they believe”. Does she “support her Jewish friends who stand up to hatred and fear“ in this situation? Seems to me they’re making their community a “safer place“ and making it known they’re not gonna take any crap from those that wish to do them harm. Mike Weisman (interviewed in the beginning) has the right idea, as do these folks in New York.

What say you, Senator Morrison? I think we know the answer already though....

Senator Morrison has a public town hall meeting in Norhbrook, IL on 1/21. Would be a good time to get those answers.
