Key White House COVID advisor breaks her own rules and is now retiring

WASHINGTON — Dr. Deborah Birx has announced she plans to retire after being outed on Sunday for not following her own holiday travel guidance, calling the experience “overwhelming.”

In an interview with Newsy, the White House coronavirus task force coordinator said she would help the incoming Biden administration but then planned to head for the exits.

“I want the Biden administration to be successful,” Birx said, noting that she has worked in the federal government since the Reagan administration in 1980.

“I will be helpful in any role that people think I can be helpful in and then I will retire,” she went on.

“I will have to say, as a civil servant, I will be helpful through a period of time, and then I will have to say, this experience has been a bit overwhelming. It has been very difficult on my family … I think what was done over the last week to my family.”

Oh really? Please, tell us more, doc!

She also tried to justify her decision to travel to Delaware from Washington with her husband, daughter, son-in-law and two grandchildren.

“I think what was done in the past week to my family — you know, they didn’t choose this for me. They’ve tried to be supportive, but to drag my family into this,” Birx trailed off.

“My daughter hasn’t left that house in 10 months, my parents have been isolated for 10 months. They’ve become deeply depressed as I’m sure many elderly have as they’ve not been able to see their sons, their granddaughters,” she said.

“My parents have not been able to see their surviving son for over a year. These are all very difficult things,” she added.

Cry me a fucking River. Your “guidance” over the past 3/4 of a year has led to people’s loved ones dying alone, families not being able to visit their elderly relatives confined in senior communities/nursing homes, people getting arrested and fined for “breaking the rules”, people losing their jobs, and most of all, led to our way of life being upended. So sorry for the “inconvenience” to you and YOUR family. Guess only us plebs are supposed to follow the rules you set (much like how those that push and finance gun control live by a double standard). You get no sympathy from us. Screw you, as you have no empathy. “Trust the science“, unless it affects you.....

Empathy is the capacity to understand or feel what another person is experiencing from within their frame of reference, that is, the capacity to place oneself in another's position.
