Nancy Pelosi removes portraits of former House speakers, but there’s a BIG problem.....

From ABC:

Late Thursday afternoon, the gold-framed portraits of four former Speakers of the House of Representatives who shared ties to the Confederacy were removed from the walls of the U.S. Capitol, as efforts to strike down symbols of racism around the country continue in the wake of George Floyd's killing last month.
In a letter addressed Thursday to Cheryl Johnson, clerk of the House of Representatives, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi called for the removal of the paintings in observance of Juneteenth on Friday.
The portraits were taken down hours later. They had hung in the Capitol for decades, honoring Robert Hunter of Virginia, who served as speaker from 1839 to 1841, Howell Cobb of Georgia, 1849 to 1851, James Orr of South Carolina, 1857 to 1859, and Charles Crisp of Georgia, 1891 to 1895.

He joined the Democratic slate of nominees in 1842, and won a Georgia At-Large seat in the U.S. House for the 28th Congress(1843–1845). Cobb broke with other Southern Members who sought to combine their state delegations into a sectional voting bloc in order to protect the system of slavery. In 1849, his pro-Union stance thrust him into the Speakership on the 63rd ballot as a compromise candidate, paving the way for him to oversee passage of the Compromise of 1850.

And there you have it. I thought the Republicans were the bad guys......

Founded in 1865, the Ku Klux Klan (KKK) extended into almost every southern state by 1870 and became a vehicle for white southern resistance to the Republican Party’s Reconstruction-era policies aimed at establishing political and economic equality for black Americans. Its members waged an underground campaign of intimidation and violence directed at white and black Republican leaders. Though Congress passed legislation designed to curb Klan terrorism, the organization saw its primary goal–the reestablishment of white supremacy–fulfilled through Democratic victories in state legislatures across the South in the 1870s.

Yeah. Wake up, ”woke” people. The Democrats and their allies are trying to start another “rebellion“ as we speak. The Democrats better also take down anything related to the “hero” of the Civil Rights movement (President Johnson, Democrat):
